Heart of the Flamenco at Castillo Espanol Restaurant

If you like to enjoy an afternoon or an evening of delightful entertainment at Castillo Espanol Restaurant, seated at a comfortable table with friends and family, having a delicious dinner with at least a pitcher of Sangria, and Hors d'oeuvre and a few good drinks, there is nothing quite as culturally rewarding as to enjoy it all with a live Flamenco show. The two very authentically and genuine Tablaos of Flamenco offered by the Cintron Brothers from Spain, Rafael and Cristobal, internationally recognized artists of Flamenco and their professional artistic entourage who regularly perform at this beautiful and spacious restaurant in Poughkeepsie is a delight to behold.
There are two shows offered on the last Sunday of every month, one at 3:00 P.M and the other at 7:00 P.M. The shows are about 30-45 minutes long and include two lead guitarists dressed in traditional black, the Cintron Brothers, and two or more women singers and dancers in very colorful dresses typical of gypsy attire. Some of the women clap, and play their castanets, drum, and sing, and dance tapping their special high heel shoes strongly on the stage floor as they sensually dance about. The vibrant dancing, the guitar strumming, the color, passion, intensity and drama of the whole Tablao is both seriously sensory, exciting and moving. The Cintron Brothers bring on the Fiesta, with flamenco compositions of alegrias, seguidillas, and other heartfelt expressive, soulful sounds of Spain, - - phenomenal Flamenco at its best. And the acclaimed talent of dancer Maya de Silva, and other dancers and singers further enhance the artistic energy of the Fiesta, providing an extraordinary show with tremendous audience appreciative appeal.

The standard Flamenco dinner at Castillo Espanol includes four courses: Hors d'oeuvre, salad, Main Entree, and Dessert.
Appetizers include a super delicious assortment: Spanish Chorizo, Garlic Shrimp, Stuffed Mushrooms, pintxos of Tortilla, and tender pieces of Chicken Villaroy. For Entrees there are about twelve dishes to choose from. Go for the very flavorful and authentic Paella Valenciana, the Churrasco Steak with shrimp, or with Lobster, that is so excellent and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Or the Salmon Parrillada with Clams, Mussels, and Shrimp, or the Broiled Pork Chop with Fried Sweet Plantains which is soo good, a real standout too.

All meals come with fabulously prepared Dessert; The Spanish Flan, or the Natilla are wonderful. Or have a plate of really good tasting Ice Cream: Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate, and finish the whole Flamenco show with great tasting Cuban or Spanish Coffee made with Cacao Liquor, and Licor 43 respectively. Or have some of the best Tequilla and Tequilla cocktails in the Hudson Valley.

The Hosts and owners of the restaurant, Bernardo and Tania Cazares
provide a hospitable, relaxed, and gracious ambiance for their customers.
